Having decided to opt for a wig, my friend recommended a place to me, so off I went with Sgt Major in search of my new hair.

In 30 minutes he had driven me to Malaga and we found the place OK. I don’t know about you but the thought of having to wear a wig all day fills me with dread.

What’s the alternative though,  become a hedgehog for 6 months.

So we loitered by the window display, looking at what seemed some very strange dummy heads with hair on top. Each and everyone of them looked so false and not like the one my friend wore, anyway I bit the bullet and entered the shop. Read more

the hairdresser

I have been visiting the same hairdresser for a number of years, however this day was different.

About three weeks after my first chemotherapy session my hair started to thin and when I combed it through it began to come out in my hands.

I would wake up in a morning and the pillow would be covered in hair. The inevitable had happened. Everything I read said that it was probable and that if it hadn’t happened in 3 weeks then it probably wasn’t going to fall out. I hoped that I would be one of the small percentage that kept their locks. It was to be! Read more
