the day after chemo!
I slept in late today, usually up at 8 o’ Clock to do the school run. However my son is off school this week so I’m going to take advantage and have a bit of a rest.
I wasn’t sure how I was going to feel today, first day and all that. Actually I’m not feeling too bad, I’m full of cold and sneezing a lot, (I never get colds).
My throat is a bit soar and I feel dizzy every now and again. However I’m not complaining as I know things could be a lot worse. Oh hum!
first chemotherapy session
What a day! I woke up with a feeling of dread, feeling sick and thinking what the day would bring.
I went first thing to have my blood checked, its all a bit stressful and fraught and it didn’t do much for my self confidence.
I went back a few hours later for my first dose of chemotherapy.
What is it with hospitals that fill you with such dread, the smell, the white coated clad doctors I don’t know. Read more
lumpectomy operation
Well ‘d’ day has arrived, I haven’t slept much the night before, in fact I haven’t slept much since this saga began.
I got up as usual and took my son to school, he knew that I was going into hospital for a couple of days but didn’t know what for.
I thought the ‘cancer’ word would be far too much for him to deal with and preferred not to tell him. Read more
